Courtney Beka
Designer who thinks good design should make life easier, not harder.
You know that feeling when you're trying to use an app and it just doesn't make sense? That's what got me into design.
I spent four years at MacEwan University figuring out how to make digital stuff less frustrating. Now I work with businesses to create experiences that people genuinely enjoy using instead of tolerating.
What I'm Actually Good At
The Tools I Know
- I can make magic happen in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite. Yes, I've survived my share of Photoshop crashes.
- Pretty comfortable with all the usual suspects like Microsoft Office and Google Drive.
- I build prototypes that actually work and look good on your phone.
- Big on making things accessible—everyone deserves good design.
Making Things Work Better
- I know how to make websites that don't confuse people. Revolutionary, I know.
- Good at organizing messy information so it makes sense.
- Took a confusing HR website and made it usable. You can see it in my projects.
Making Things Look Good
- I can take a rough idea and turn it into something polished that all fits together.
- Whether it's a logo, website, or marketing campaign—I've probably designed something like it.
- Designed a pretty cool horror game interface (yes, that's a real thing in my portfolio).
Working With People
- I know how to test ideas fast, get feedback, and make things better without taking it personally.
- Good at translating between design speak and normal human language.
- I make sure what looks good also makes business sense.
Getting Stuff Done
- I can explain design decisions to anyone, from CEOs to developers, and make it interesting.
- Pretty good at juggling deadlines without losing my mind.
- I speak both designer and developer, so nothing gets lost in translation.
